For the past two years, I’ve been trying to make clothes that I actually want to wear. It hasn’t always gone as planned. So far, I can proudly say that I’ve made two dresses and a jacket, thanks to a fantastic pattern from Domestika (link on my blog). Other than that… it's been hit or miss.

At some point, out of desperation, I signed up for a sewing and garment construction course in St. John's. I’ve had a few lessons so far, and we’ll see where it takes me. Hopefully, I’ll be sharing that journey on my blog as well.

Who am I?

I am a woman in middle age—not too old, but no longer young. You could say I’m going through a midlife crisis, though I prefer to think of it as searching for my own space. I’m trying to find my small universe in the center of Cork, ( it is in the Republic of Ireland), creating a life on my own terms.

One of those choices is stepping away from fast fashion. I care about quality, so I avoid chain stores and synthetic fabrics. Polyester, acrylic, and other petroleum-based materials have little in common with natural fabrics, yet high-quality options are often ridiculously expensive. That’s why I decided to find my own balance—by sewing.

I write because I’m looking for balance. In a world where social media can be overwhelming, I’ve chosen to create my own space—a blog that helps me reconnect with myself. Social media is just a way to remind people that I’m here.
