Measuring the Giant

Thursdays are now officially my sewing and garment construction days! The first lesson began with unleashing my inner creative self and putting her ideas on paper. And well… after 8 hours at work and 10 hours of being awake, creative me went absolutely wild. She couldn’t stop sketching, cutting, and making mood boards out of Vogue clippings—like there was no tomorrow!

Then came the tricky part. We had to take each other’s measurements, which was pretty awkward since we were all strangers. It was especially uncomfortable for me and my two-meter-tall partner—I had to measure him! Were my measurements accurate? Probably not. But the key lesson? When making clothes, you have to consider every part of the body. Some measurements can be surprisingly tricky!
