Expectations vs Reality and where does this idea will take me.

Is it difficult to be fashionable and sustainable at the same time?
Is it easy to develop a fashion sense after your 40 where you often ignore all trends?
Why am I doing this? To feel young and beautiful again in Cork, Ireland? Where trends are not dictated unless you're a fan of huge eyelashes and a strong touch of a sunbath.
These questions have been bugging me for the last few weeks. What do I want from this project of dictating my own fashion rules?
My intuition tells me that I should approach this idea with a bit of a tongue-in-cheek attitude and benefit from it by developing additional crafting skills. In the end, why not? It is better than a weekend visit to a local pub, don't you think?
All I knew when I made that idea is that I don't want to be just a simple
consumer who goes weekly to Penneys or Brown Thomas (if I want to feel a bit
fancier) and buys ready-to-wear products. It doesn't matter which brand, as most of them are produced in China with no guarantee that labor laws or human rights are respected.
Why should I contribute to this race for new trends only to dispose of them when the season ends?
Developing your own style by making your clothes is undoubtedly challenging. The beginning of my life path change seems so clumsy, not entirely the way I visualized it in my dreams, but oh well, let's continue, even if my first project deserves to become a meme labeled "Expectation vs Reality."
