My Sewing Meltdown

Updated: Aug 31

This blog should be called not "Onthatpage," but epic failure.

After the spectacular success of sewing a jacket following the instructions from a Domestika course, it was time for the epic collapse of my sewing skills. Or rather, my lack thereof.

Not to mention that I cut the same left front upper part three times, either because the wrong side of the fabric didn't match the pattern of the lower part, or, even more ridiculously (tragically funny, really), I sewed it completely backwards—putting the collar in the place of the sleeve. After a series of such mistakes, the biggest one followed: attaching the sleeves backward, which is painfully obvious when hung on the mannequin.

Is there any hope for me to improve and for my clothes to actually resemble clothes—or am I just that kind of talent (or lack of it)?

I've given up for today. Both my hopes and the project, whose sleeves I now have to unpick and start over.

But as for that, " I'll think about it tomorrow".
