Prepare to be regaled with the epic tale of my skirt-sewing adventure. I'm about to jet off to Madrid, and what better way to commemorate the occasion than by crafting something extraordinary for the trip?

A while back, I snagged this dark green fabric that eerily resembled denim. So, I thought, why not fashion it into a skirt that'll not only turn heads but also strategically conceal my ever-growing posterior? Brilliant, right?
Now, let's dive into my pattern-picking escapades. It's a whole saga, Diary. Hours spent perusing vintage magazines, and dresses scrutinized as if I'm deciphering hieroglyphics, only to circle back to my initial gut feeling.
I've also resolved to fashion this and that for future adventures, and future soirees. The pattern of choice hails from the groovy days of 1978 and is teeming with dress patterns—classic gems that could easily have been plucked from old-timey movies, perhaps even "The Exorcist" (minus the head-spinning, of course).
As I was navigating these vintage magazine waters, what did I stumble upon? A woolly distraction—a knitted vest, to be precise. A must-have in the making, and yet another classic in the pipeline.
After a series of epic quests, leaping from one magazine to the next, and thumbing through pages like a treasure hunter, I unearthed the Holy Grail—a pattern for a classic skirt with pockets jazzed up by contrast thread, straight from the 1990 issue of Neue Mode.
The fabric I snagged is perfect for it, by the way—a robust, denim-like material.
All that remained to embark on this sewing odyssey was a zipper, and you know I've got my trusted local haunt, "Vibes and Scribes," for that.
